BIOGRAPHY

Lara Selva was born on 1980 and lives in Citta della Pieve, a small Umbrian town in the district of Perugia.
She fell in love with art and colors during childhood and her passion for artistic expressions continually grows. She attended the Art Institute in Orvieto and immediately pursued her art career. She specializes in airbrushing and is enhancing her techniques in Trompe l'Oeil by attending a specialization course at Palazzo Spinelli in Florence. Next year, she will be improving her skills in restoration of ancient paintings by taking an annual class in an art studio from a major art restorer, Barbara Mencarelli.
Lara is a self-taught with many techniques acquired through experimentation. She had exhibitions at various events and ancient hamlets. She also participates in competitions of various kinds. Along her artistic pathway, Lara has been mentioned in several magazines such as “Ville e Casali” (Country Houses) and “Il Corriere dell’Umbria” (Umbria magazine); moreover, her works appeared on television, local and national channels. She works for various characters of the show business as well as for architects, interior designers and craftsmen. Lara’s passion for art, lead her to investigate further to create hyper-realistic images through the technique of airbrush combined with other instruments.
Alberto Ponno is one of her biggest points of reference and thanks to him and his influence she mastered this technique. In 2008, she won the first prize in the international competition of airbrush and mixed techniques. Lately, she has been exploring the use of resins, with special experimentation on abstractionism and decorated floors. All of her research and experimentation revolve around the magic of color elevating to a very high artistic activity. Constantly evolving, through her techniques she applies emotions in order to express herself and of those who commissioned the work. Since 2005, she has done interior projects of public places such as bars, restaurants, pubs and many others; she make them unique and special as well as functional and attractive for customers.
